The Tigers are on the hunt for talent and have plenty of money to spend.
Some of that money could be headed the way of Sea Eagles centre Brian Kelly, following reports that he’s being targeted to bolster the Tigers’ backline.
According to SMH, the Tigers are looking to add a “strike centre and fullback“, and have made a play for Kelly to be the former.
As for fullback, the report lists Eels winger Bevan French, Sharks winger Valentine Holmes, and Bulldogs utility Moses Mbye as potential options, although all three are currently under contract at their respective clubs for next year.
Compared to last year, the pickings are a bit slim in the free agency market; but the Tigers know what they want, and certainly have the cash to get it, if they so choose.
Kelly has played 33 first grade games for the Sea Eagles since his debut last year.
