Tui Lolohea isn’t going to be impressed.
According to a report by Inside Sport (via Fox Sports), the Tigers have agreed to terms on a deal to bring Moses “the Bulldogs’ only good attacking player” Mbye over to play fullback.
The report doesn’t indicate whether the deal would commence immediately or in 2019, though it does suggest that the Bulldogs will be kicking in about $250,000 per season towards Mbye’s salary.
Tigers fans will recall that Lolohea was brought to the club in search of an opportunity to play five-eighth or fullback. With the addition of Mbye, on top of their recruitment of five-eighths Benji Marshall and Josh Reynolds, it’s unclear what the future now holds for the enigmatic Lolohea.
Whatever it is, it’s probably not the long-term Tigers fullback gig.
Mbye has played 91 first grade games for the Bulldogs since his debut in 2014.
