The Weekend Wrap: 22/7/18

July 22, 2018, 9:38 pm By Joel Leave a Comment

The Bulldogs are set to finally receive some positive news, with second-rower Rhyse Martin expected to re-sign, potentially as soon as this week.

It’ll be little consolation for the Raiders, but the NRL have admitted that the touch judge erred in raising his flag, leading to a bizarre try that all but ended the Raiders’ season.

Despite failing to finish his side’s win over the Raiders, Sharks second-rower Wade Graham is expected to be fine for Thursday’s clash with the Broncos.

Boom Panthers utility Jarome Luai is set for an extended stint on the sidelines, after the club confirmed he’s suffered a syndesmosis injury in his left ankle.

The Titans received some positive news before their loss to the Knights, when forward Keegan Hipgrave re-signed for another two years.

The Rabbitohs and second-rower John Sutton are working towards an extension, with both sides keen to see Sutton remain at Redfern for another season.

Storm winger Young Tonumaipea has played his last game for the club (for now, at least), and departed for his Mormon mission in Belgium.

Warriors five-eighth Blake Green was a late scratching from their loss to the Storm with a rib injury, but is expected back next week.

Despite being one of the form hookers of the competition, Warriors rake Isaac Luke may be forced to take a pay-cut if he’s to remain in New Zealand, due to salary cap pressure.
