Introduction
Being an avid follower of not only rugby league but also American football, I’ve lost countless hours on the internet devouring some fantastic websites dedicated to the NFL. These sites contain a level of thoughtful analysis and discussion, or innovative applications of statistics, that simply don’t exist in today’s coverage of rugby league and the NRL. Whilst I have always enjoyed these incredible sources of information, I’ve frequently found myself longing for a website with a similarly intelligent approach to rugby league. And so, The Obstruction Rule was born.
The Obstruction Rule‘s VOA statistics and team ratings are a tool unavailable anywhere else on the web, through which rugby league fans can truly measure a side’s statistical output. They describe not only what happened on the field, but also provide context. You can learn more about our VOA NRL statistics here.
The Obstruction Rule Newsfeed gives you all of the latest news that you need to know, without any of the fluff that you don’t. We pore over all of the web’s news sites and separate the real news from the tabloid rubbish, then provide it to you in an easy-to-read, summarised format.
Our Weekly Tips and Previews utilise our own VOA statistics and our unique algorithm to offer you some of the most accurate tips available on the web, with in-depth explanations of exactly why one team is favoured over another.
The Features section is where you’ll find long-form, in-depth articles on our great game. These can include anything from historical pieces to rugby league theory or statistical analysis. If you long to read something on the NRL that goes deeper than “we’re going to do it for the boys”, this is the place to come.
All of these sections are created with the intention to not only inform, but also to entertain. While the mainstream media can get bogged down in negativity and boring waffle in their quest for content, we try not to lose sight of the fact that you’ve chosen to visit the site in your free time, and that you follow your team and sport for one, defining reason – to enjoy yourself.
I sincerely hope that you add The Obstruction Rule to your daily surfing sequence. Without it, your NRL coverage just isn’t complete.
Cheers,
Joel
