Caught in the middle of a forward crisis following injuries to key middles Jesse Bromwich, Dale Finucane and Sam Kasiano, the Storm are reportedly on the hunt for reinforcements.
According to WWOS reporter The Mole, help may be arriving soon, in the form of Warriors prop Albert Vete.
The report suggests that Melbourne are “close” to signing Vete, who would become their second addition in quick succession, after they added fringe Panthers forward Tom Eisenhuth earlier this week.
At his destructive best, Vete can be a high-impact, powerful ball runner, however he appears to have fallen out of favour with Warriors coach Stephen Kearney in recent times.
Perhaps with a change of scenery, Vete could turn out to be the value buy of the year.
Vete has played 46 first grade games for the Warriors, and 1 Test for Tonga.
